I arrived home from work to discover that my house had been flooded thus I needed an emergency place to stay from the 21st - 23rd December. Most places in Johannesburg were fully booked for those dates until I found the Constantia hotel & gave them a call.
A very cheerful lady whose name I think may have been Priscilla assured me I would be well taken care of.
The exterior was just as it looked on the website. However, no one helped with my bag or showed me the way. The stairway of the block of rooms was DARK, no passage light & smelled like dog or some rats had died there. Upon reaching my room, the key didnt work so I had to go back using the same passageway- risking a vicious attack from the resident big rat that I suspected was staring @ me undetected from somewhere along the stairs.
To cut a long story short; the room was so filthy I was afraid a spider would bite me from under the dirty covers! The quality of the breakast was dispicable! EVEN in the morning the passage was still filthy! Saturday I was informed around 4pm that the kitchen would close early- thank! The place has a ghost town eerie feeling about it! To this day I can smell the dead dog!
