My partner and I split up in January 2012. He was still a beneficiary on my medical aid till December 2012.
In September 2012 he went to Randburg Medicross and underwent R600 worth of treatment that was not covered by the Medical Aid.
Even though he was a beneficiary on my medical aid, at no time did I indicate to Medicross that I will be responsible for his account. (In my mind, being the main member of a medical aid and the person responsible for the account is not the same thing - but according to Emmanuel, the main member and the person responsible for the account is the same thing). I have tried on numerous occasions to clarify this with them but they unilaterally state that I am responsible.
If they had bothered to confirm (just once when he went in the first time) whether I would be responsible for the account, I would've said: NO.
They have his contact details, etc, so its not as if I'm saying they musn't get paid. Yet I am the one being handed over to Vericred and treated like an, because I can't possibly expect the courtesy of a phone call BEFORE they hold me accountable for an account I did not give permission for!
Surely this can't be right?
