Tried to donate blood today 19/09/2013 at approx 10h45, please take note this would have been my 11th or 12 th unit of blood that was donated by myself, after I have completed the medical report required I provided the gentleman with my membership card, he then verified the information ainst my record on the computor and added it to my report, he then still wanted to know if I have ever donated bloos before, I pointed the fact out that I have been a loyal donour as per his computor print out, he then refered me to a lady by the name of Faiza who once again went through the information supplied by myself, I do take chronic medication for High blood pressure and pointed the matter out on the the form that I completed, the lady " FAIZA" when she reached the notifaction she told me that I would not be able to donate blood if i do not represent them with a letter from my GP. Why did she not take my blood pressure, she would have noticed that due to me taking medication my blood pressure is normal, is Faiza all of a sudden a medical doctor, we the public try and safe lifes be donating life giving blood only to be refused by a SANBS nurse... DO NOT DONATE BLOOD
