We had booked to stay at Shallow Water in December 2011. We paid the 50% deposit by June 2011. In September we meet an unfortunate car accident and we had planned to drive to Namibia. This was a sad set back we had to cancel our trip. We contacted Fanie requesting a cancellation. We had though since it was 3months in advance we would get back our deposit or even a percentage of it. It has been a battle!!! He said he would refund us our deposit. (Sadly we are still waiting). I then contacted the tourism board of Namibia through the South African office they also could not give proper feedback as they said they tried to sort it out.
We are planning on going to Namibia again but will not stay at Shallow Water Inn!!!
