The New Year cruise on board the MSC OPERA which departed Durban 27 December 2012, heading for Mauritius. Passengers were told they would spend 3 days in Mauritius, however, on the day we docked in PORT LOUIS, an annoucement was made that we would only spend until 11pm that night due to the possibility of an approaching cyclone. Passengers were not given a warning of this prior to reaching Mauritius, and this was the reason many people booked this cruise. On 2 January, we were told that we passed the cyclone, therefore proving that we missed our time in Mauritius for no reason. When passengers approached the team they were rude and arrogant and did not want to entertain any comments from us. I think the captain should have know that the cyclone was approaching. We booked accommodation in Mauritius & we lost out MSC thinks they done us a huge favor by taking us to another island. To top it off we were suppose to have a 4 sleeper cabin we landed up having a 3 sleeper.. We are very disappointed and will like this to be sorted out ASAP .We are not getting any help form the manager at MSC they seem to be passing the buck, we paid and we expect service!!! Remember the cruise was not cheap
