Not settling of claims

My wife was told by her doctor to have x rays done at the private hospital in Newcastle who belong to discovery network and that she should pay for the x rays and claim it back from discovery she did as she was told. When we submitted the invoice and receipt of payment to them they declined the claim on the grounds that the x ray dept were no longer in their network we were not notified of the change neither was the doctors we made numerous telephone calls but to no avail, NB as far as we understand that no authorization is required for x rays.
