Have been a member of a medical aid administered by Discovery for more that 30 years. From August 1 this medical aid was assimilated into Discovery. I have been paying my monthly premium into an account (details supplied by Discovery). This month I duly paid my premium into this account on the 29th of July as no new arrangement had been communicated by Discovery. This morning I received notification from my bank that a debit order had been processed from Discovery for the premium on the 1st of August. I never agreed to or signed any documentation authorizing Discovery to debit my bank account. Unfortunately they have the details to be able to pay refunds. Attempt to resolve via call center left me hanging on waiting for a supervisor for minutes.
Who will be responsible for the financial losses that I may suffer due to insufficient funds to cover other valid debit orders?
