I received an sms from attorneys saying that I owe Dr van der Merwe Davie and Malan and that legal action is being taken against me to have me blacklisted. I then sent my medical aid (discovery) an email to sort out the issue. After some two months I received another sms. I then called Discovery to follow up as they had previously assured me they will handle the matter. I was told that the dr I went to was not registered on their network at the time I went to her. This does not make sense to me. I called discovery outside of the hospital before I even entered to make sure that the dr was on their list and the consultant said they were. When crunch time came the blame was shifted towards me. What was appalling was that they did not even follow up and I had to call to be told what was going on. Had I not done that I wouldn't have had this information. I also changed my medical plans and up to this day I have not received my card. I don't know why my employer forces us to be on this medical aid their service is bitterly disappointing.
