The food and rooms were nice, there's no arguing that. But I believe that anyone who has ever stayed there and had good things to say about the place didn't come into contact with the owner, Evelyn Mazery, who treated our family almost hostilely from the minute we got there.
Despite our discomfort at feeling like interlopers in her B&B, we stayed and enjoyed the Midlands scenery very much. The problem arose when we left and forgot my little 15-month old daughter's 2 favourite toys there. Despite a beautiful sms describing them in detail and explaining how much they mean to her, and a follow up call the next day, Evelyn just said she didn't have time to go and look for them and then we didn't hear anything from her again.
What kind of person doesn't understand how much a baby's toys mean and can't be bothered to return them (at our cost of course). We now consider them.
