Not honouring a warranty

I have a television that requires repairs. It is 14 months old, and my warranty card states 2 years on Televisions (from Samsung). On contacting them, they now claim their warranty is only 1 year.
The TV was purchased from House and Home Edenvale on 8/2/2012 The Model is UA40D5003. The serial Number is 251938RBB01797N
