My friend bought me a Samsung Galaxy S3 in Singapore in August last year (2012). My device stopped charging a couple of days ago. I called Samsung South Africa and with friendly and speedy service they directed me to the official repair center in Cape Town. I took the device in for repair yesterday and they told me the device is not covered under South African warranty. I am now personally responsible for the repairs which is not even that expensive but still pretty upsetting. I take really good care of my electronics. I am really happy with the product and the service I have received but I think it is ridiculous that the warranty don't cover this repair in South Africa.
