Samsung South Africa
Samsung unacceptable after sale service

I bought an Samsung Galaxy SII on contract from Vodacom during October 2011. On 4 January 2013 i noticed that my phone kept on giving a notice that there is no signal. at first I thought there might be a Vodacom signal issue but after a few hours I realized something else had to be wrong. I then switched the sim card to another phone which seemed to be working. I then realized that the phone also still receive a WIFI signal but no cellular signal. I contacted the Samsung Customer care centre who gave me a reference and referred me to Smartlab 2112831730. On 14 January I took it to them and they quoted me R2799 to have it repaired. The only info they were prepared to give me was that the motherboard had to be replaced??? I refused and called the customer care who informed me that because it is not under guarentee they wil NOT accept any responsibility.
The phone is only 1, 5 years old. This is unacceptable and bad workmanship for a very expensive item. I am very disapointed in the quality of the product which is supposed to be superior to the iPhone. I think not!
