Washing machine and tumble drier broke. After 2 weeks of phone calls they finally logged the call. The subcontractor they send, Mike from Mikectrolight, a one man band, shows up, apparently AEG was able to train him in how to repair an electrical problem with a screwdriver, I must have missed that class at varsity. These subcontractors are more interested in doing call outs as they make R400 per call out, they aren't interested or appropriately trained to fix more complex problems. He looked at the tumble drier for literally 5 minutes and said he would try change the capacitor and see if that fixes it. No doubt he will try a bit of this and a bit of that and I guess he hopes he will get lucky and fix the problem, or as with my AEG dishwasher, claim its fixed, take the R400 and make a run for it. One thinks that by spending a premium, the washing machine costs R8500, one will deal with a professional company, but forget it, in the interim I bought a cheap Samsung machine and its doing as good a job as the AEG machine, so my advice, stay away from AEG and the professional clowns who work there.
