Unhappy with the outcome of my "repair'

My LG DVD player was perfectly and I decided to upgrade the firmware which is supplied on the [URL Removed] website. After downloading the BANK30.zip software and installing it, as per their website, my DVD player was damaged. The machine kept on switching itself off. After two weeks, since I handed it in for repairs, I am told that I will be given a new home theatre system because my system has been discontinued and can not be repaired but, I have to pay R1504.12 for the new system. My system was working fine before I installed the software they provided, for free, on their website. Now I have to pay for something they damaged and for someone that is unemployed (me) a R1504.12 is a lot of money. I am not very happy with this decision because I didn't do anything wrong!!! No LG! I expected better from you!!!
