At my workplace, we were advised that our Head office is moving from CPT to DBN and if we did not relocate we would be retrenched. As a result I applied for a role in DBN as we were advised that relocation would only be effective Oct 2014. However, when I received my acceptance letter it said that I would have to be in DBN from 1st Jan 2014. So with very little time I have ALOT to arrange.
One being that I had to give notice at my daughters school (Parklands Educare), which I did yesterday (7th November). The admin lady advised me that unfortunately the principal would not accept the notice given as it has to be from the 1st of the month. I expressed my willingness to pay up until the 7th December at a daily rate (which works out to more than based on monthly rate), however, even though this is unusual circumstances and totally unplanned. The school is holding me liable for December fees, this is very unreasonbale as I'm not unwilling to pay, I just don't see why I need to pay for a whole month extra because the principal won't see reason and is so desperate to take extra money wherever she can.
