Unisa Student Service Incompetence

Hi

I have recently applied to Unisa for the 2014 academic year. I intend on completing the remaining 2 odd years there, transferring from Wits.
My application was meant to be made by way of manually filling out forms when I went there. As advised by the applications assistant. This was due to the fact that I had already undertaken a short course with them and couldn't apply online as a consequence (first fail as current student applications - I believe - ought to be simpler)
I was also advised that I couldn't not pay an application fee as I was told that I would have to be issued a new student number (which I needed when making payment).
I am currently unsure of my application status for my formal qualification and have no idea how to manoeuvre this situation.
The phones go unanswered and no correspondence from the University.
