I registered for DVA1501 with Unisa for semester 2 in July 2013. I received incomplete study material and the prescribed book, which was supposed to be enclosed has still not been delivered. It was marked as *out of stock*. I allowed a week to pass before contacting them to ask when I would receive my book, which so happened to be the most vital book from which I was to gain the information needed to complete six assignments and to use for exam prep. They never responded. I sent more emails and eventually received a response telling me what I already know, that they're "out of stock". How does that help me when they do not make the particular book available on their site for download? I can't find it anywhere... and it is not my duty to locate it in another way, as it is part of the package!
I had to locate someone who is studying the same module and get the electronic book from them, which they kindly shared, and then I had to print all 300 pages myself, and cover the costs out of my pocket. This is ridiculous! In the mean time I only have two weeks before the due date for all six of my assignments. This has affected my life in other areas negatively! Pathetic!!
