I called CPUT to obtain onfromation on a course. the person that greeted me at approximately 8h45 on Monday 12 August 2013 was extremely grumpy and very rude. From the first sentence out of his mouth he left the impression that he was deeply unhappy to be at work and had no interest in talkinfg to me. This was made even more clear by the continuos sighing throughput the call, as if it was taking every last bit of energy he had to tell me that he could not give me details or put me in touch with any person that could. He spoke to me as if I were an. When i challenged him him he told me that I am asking for a service which is out of the norm and that there was no one else for me to speak to.
How can someone like this be placed in a position to provide guidance to the youth of our country and promote learning? This is the issue that I have. I wonder if this attitude is not partially the reason why so many of the youth in our country develop a rude, arrogant, self-centred, no can do attitude. With someone like this in the education system I can only immagine how these students leave feeling.
