I would like to report the matter between myself and Attic Homes, I am doing this to help potential clients from enlisting their services due to the experience i have had. Attic Homes were represented by Daya Pillay a self proclaimed "Man Of " who was enlisted to build my home in Izinga Ridge, Him and his wife Saroj Pillay came to our family and promised to build my home which i had worked hard for 5 years to save up for. We initially employed Tuskana Developments to build the home but Daya kept approaching us and telling us that the home was in jeopardy of collapsing and unsafe, Eventually the pressure prevailed and we asked Tuskana to leave the site. Attic asked for R350, 000 upfront which goes against the laws of the NHBRC as a builder can not take funds upfront, He performed work which was later found to be Sub-Standard and has to be redone, He built against engineers plans and architects plans which will now cost to R200, 000 to repair, We paid a 2nd draw of R196, 00 which was meant for windows, doors and aluminium work, he then absconded from the site with my funds. This matter is now with the NHBRC and the case is on going. I have reports and evidence to support my complaint.
