This contractor insisted on being paid a deposit, and then ran away with my money after I paid him R315 000 to do work.
He did not return phone calls or keep to meetings. He ignored me completely.
The bit of work he did was in any event defective and I had to redo this at my own expense.
He refused to give me an accounting and debatement on the value of the bit of work he did do, and then when he eventually did, he tried to work his way out by claiming that the cost of the fraction of work done exceeded the value of the total project.
2 years later I am still waiting for him to pay me back. He has come up with ridiculous excuses that he has every intention to do so and fed me numerous of his long shot promises to pay.
My advice is that if you need a contractor to do construction work, that you think twice before entrusting the task to Woolf Contracting CC
