I paid the deposit on the 1st of March 2016.
According to the contract they would have taken 19 days to complete the work. It’s now already more than 3 months and they haven’t even started.
Apart from this, during this 3 months, they made promises verbally and on email, none of which they kept to.
It’s clear to me that they do not value their agreements and think nothing of breaking their word.
Even a promise that they will pay back the deposit was not kept repeatedly.
In summary :
• I phoned Practica House (Jacob James v Deventer - if that's his real name?); The first voice conversation after the contract was accepted & deposit paid was confirmations that money was received and process has started. (about 5 March 2016)
• 2nd James phoned me requesting to come to my house to take measurements, which they did.(about mid March)
• There after we only conversed via email, they promised time after time that they will send me a sketch drawing of the work to be done but still hasn’t done so
• 5 May I demanded return of my deposit and they clearly acknowledged that they will return this deposit, which still hasn’t happened
From my perspective this is a criminal case since I’ve given them far more than enough time to prove their intent was not to comply with the contract and do not have an intent to return my deposit.
I hope this message prevents any further victims.
If you really have to, make sure you have their correct physical address... but just don't!
