AJ had previously provided service to repair a faulty garage door and all work was completed without incident. Aware that he/the business also provided fence repair services he was contacted to help with an issue. His colleagues/sub contractors, Thys and Timothy, finally arrived to inspect the job and requested a 50% deposit (R750) before they could start the work. This was paid in cash to avoid the delay of clearing an EFT. After rescheduling twice they arrived to complete the job and then discovered an issue with the DB board and battery. They requested a further R1300 for these parts and immediately left to go pick them up. Thys said they would immediately return and call when en route. No call. When chased we were told they would return the following day. They did not return. When AJ was contacted, he was extremely apologetic, told us that his subcontractor had been fired and he would complete the work himself on Friday 24 Jan at 3pm. AJ did not arrive and has not responded to email, sms or phone messages. After over 2 weeks of trying to get the job done, we are out of pocket R2050 with no work completed to date.
