This contractor/carpenter (Ziah Davids) was engaged to install built-in cupboards in a flat in Durban. A deposit (R35 000) was paid over. Ziah Davids had agreed to have the job completed within a certain period of time. Which he did not meet. Ziah Davids ignored numerous calls, sms's and other messages. He missed several meetings, and did not provide valid excuses suffice to say that his phone was broken. The installation of the cupboards has held up the rest of the project. The police was taken to Ziah Davids' place of residence - 39 Barnes Road, Sydenham - where he resides with his parents. His father Mr Davids (of 39 Barnes Road, Sydenham) said that he would speak to his son (Ziah Davids) to have the job done within the week. This did not happen. Calls were made to Ziah Davids, it not answer, and his father who stated that Ziah was on holiday in Cape Town - clearly putting the R35 000 deposit to good use. Police were taken to 39 Barnes Road, Sydenham to retrieve the flat keys. Mr Davids swore and screamed at the owner (a woman) of the flat. The defective material he installed needs to be removed and replaced at additional cost. The job is incomplete and deposit not returned.
