A character who goes by the name of Kurt/Kart Pieterse or Kurt/Kart Duchesne poses as an installer of gates and fences and uses various company names. Some names are VKD gates and fencing, KD gates, Kaydee gates and automation, Budget Gates. There is even a bogus website at [URL Removed] Kurt was commissioned to install safety gates for me in April 2011. He came to take measurements several times, quoted and asked for a deposit. He promised to install the gates two weeks thereafter. Several phone calls later, he said he needed money for the galvanizing. After this money was paid, he had further excuses why the gates were not stalled.
Eventually I laid a charge against him and he appeared in the Small Claims Court. He promised to repay the money. To date he has not repaid a cent. Charges have also been laid against him by ten other people who he has conned out of their cash in a similar manner. In one instance he even posed as a renter of a property, also collecting a deposit, yet the prospective tenant was never able to occupy the building. Please people be warned there are many Kurt's out there.
