We'd like to express our dissatisfaction with A.M. Building cc. & highlight the experience that we had after they failed to complete a renovation at our home & have not responded to our numerous emails highlighting problems.By the time we had paid R400k of the original R682k quoted, the builder started to present us with additional bills for work that had neither been provided to us nor even approved before the work was undertaken. Furthermore, we were being charged for work that was included in the original quote provided to us. When we disputed this & stopped payments/withdrawals to the contractor, they simply downed tools. The problems began when the owner left to work overseas and handed the project over to his partner. After we started getting additional bills for work being done, and started to query these "additional charges", we took a decision to stop making any further payments/draws to the builders. To add insult to injury, less than 6 months after completion, Cape Town has had heavy rains and the roof on the extension is leaking severely and has caused damage to the ceilings, walls, electrics and roof in several places. Attempts to resolve have been ignored.
