On 30 July, Lyndon was contracted to remove 2 palm trees from my garden and was due to be completed by end of week (2 Aug). Work commenced immediately on 30 July and a deposit of R5, 000 was paid. All that has been done to date is that the area around the 2 palms has been dug up ready for cranes to remove them. This has been the situation since 30 July and I now have palms ready to be blown over onto my house in the next Cape storm.
I have been calling daily (sometimes twice a day) to get an update on progress. He refuses to answer most of my calls and voicemails and the 2 or 3 times I managed to get a return call, he has given excuses and blatantly about when the work will be completed. First the crane availability was blamed and then the weather. When crane was supposedly available (Mon 20 Aug) and the weather was fine, no work was done. Since then he has again refused to take my calls or return my voicemails.
In summary, I have paid a deposit, the work is incomplete, the palms are in a position to cause severe damage and I don't know whether the work will be completed since Lyndon refuses to speak to me.
