I requested a quote for some steelwork around my house 24 May 2013. Due to urgency, I paid Johan of JCB Steelworks the full quotation value 24 May 2013 (bad mistake) based on his e-mail commitment stating "We will also get it done the same day! ". I needed the work done within 3-5 days. Albeit countless correspondence with him (mostly phone calls and SMS's), the work has still not been completed (only approx. 15% done). That building section has been at a complete stand-still since end May, as the steel work is a primary requirement. After trying to retrieve my funds, Johan made the offer to only return 34% of the paid amount -albeit only 15% of the work done.
To date (2 July 2013), I neither have my requested refund nor delivery service. It is sad to see that there are businesses in today's age that make false promises to entrap one and blatantly innocent people of their hard-earned money.
Interesting to see that others have had the same experience with JCB Steelworks - a pattern seems evident. Please avoid this company at all costs.
