I had a fibreglass pool installed by Pooltopia Pools & Spas in Cape Town on 10 December 2012. After doing my homework and the fact that they belonged to the NSPI (Nation Spa & Pool Institute of South Africa), I decided to use them for our pool installation. Turns out this was a mistake!
Pool Topia comes to your house with a very large team (15 people) in order to complete the installation in 1 day, so they can get paid and move on to the next job. Which is fine, provided the job gets done properly the first time!
Shortly after the job was complete, I noticed the pool shell was bulging in areas as a result of the soil around the pool collapsing, there were hollow sections around the step area indicating the back fill was not done properly and the pool floor was uneven due to poor levelling of the ground prior to installation.
I have spent countless hours dealing with Sandy Teppler (the owner) to get them to come and fix the problems, however this seems to have fallen on deaf ears as we are now in July 2013 and still nothing has been done about this.
One would think that the NSPI would support me in my plea but this too is a lost cause.
