Underfoot Wooden Flooring
Company does not deserve to be in business

In 2010 I hired Underfoot to install an All Brown Zim Teak Floor to the contract value of over R50k. In some portions of the floor the company installed a Savanah Zim Teak which they refused to remove until we agreed a discount from the agreed amount. Secondly During 2011 we found out that the wood used in my house was not treated for wood borers. The bug eggs started hatching and leaving holes on the floor and underfoot never took responsibility. Thirdly, the floor installed on my passage started lifting in 2011 as well and when we notified them they said we must have spilt water on the floor. I recently hired a contractor who showed me that Underfoot had not left enough spacing to allow the wood to expand and contract (in the passage). The worst thing found on the passage is that Underfoot installed the wooden floor on top of an existing wooden floor which is the main reason for the swelling. I have tried to make several requests and even threatened legal action against Underfoot, but they have tried to blame the problem on me. They have even accused me of not fully paying them while we had agreed a discount because of the wrong material installed.
