I refer to an HP Pavilion G4 Serial No. 5cd312663mz, Model d7n61pa#AB2 LAPTOP I purchased on 17 April 2013.
Since this date I had not switched it on until last week.
Upon switching it on it was very-very slow and immediately, I contacted HP who advised to take in to ENSURE in Midrand to be looked at.
Ensure booked it in and the following day advised me there was a hardware problem and they were going to order new hardware to replace the defective one.
I asked why they could not give me a new computer because in terms of CPA, if a product is defective which they acknowledged and advised me, I have the option of a new one or repair it at Consumer's election. Furthermore the laptop is still under warranty - WARRANTY CARD attached.
They refused and opted to repair. I was told it was ready for collection and off I went to collect.
To my surprise the computer is now in Chinese and has NO Operating System. When I took it in it was in English and had Windows 8 Operating System plus Windows 8 itself. (Windows 8 is not an issue as I have the cd so I can reinstall it). HP IS REFUSING TO GIVE ME BACK A WORKING COMPUTER BASICALLY WANT GIVE ME BACK A BOX I CANNOT USE.
