I went to the sasol filling station opposite Gen Smuts High School, which is the corner of Beaconsfield and van Riebeeck in vereeniging.
My card was swiped for R500, and I got the sms from Absa saying the money came off, but the attendant told me that the transaction was declined. They said that the money would be reversed and that I still had to pay another R500 before i could leave. Well, i didnt have enough money to pay again, so they gave me the telephone for Nedbank, and said I should call and have it reversed. Well imagine... tell your customer to do your job... While calling, I ran out of airtime, so asked my husband to call and try get the money reversed. He tried, and and lady at Nedbank said the merchant must call, not a client, so referred me back to filling station. The attitude of the sasol garage was shocking. The manager was rude and totally unhelpful. As I work at Gen Smuts, I promised to come pay the money of there was an issue, as I still had to fetch my kids from creche. They refused to listen... eventually they agreed to call and the funds were reversed. I will never go to a sasol delight again... regards, Joanna
