Yesterday I sent my car in for a full major service, Watneys Mechanical Repairs, as the pamphlet offered. During the day I was contacted for the replacement of a CAM belt at an additional R3500 and a radiator flush at an extra R200. I told the gentleman to only do the service which was oil, plugs, filters, timing, valve set condenser replacement, engine steam cleaned, grease wheel bearings, valve set etc. Upon receiving the car back I noticed the engine bay was not even cleaned,
So I asked, what all was done as it looked to be untouched. The response I got " well sir, we changed the oil and oil filter, the rest of the filters, plugs points and condensers are still in a good condition so we did not change them. So I ask again, If I send it in to be replaced despite''good condition'' why not do so, as they are charging me for the parts. Can they justify a R 600 oil change. Its not a sports car!
