Kia Motors South Africa
Wrong Diagnoses Of Problem

From day 1 after I purchased a KIA Cerato 1.6 Sedan in July 2012, I complained about a search/jerking problem on acceleration. The excuse from the service centre was that there is no software upgrade available yet, as this would solve the problem. The steering wheel also have a problem, and the gearshift boot is torn. Eventually in Feb. 2013 on 5210 km's, they pinpointed the search/jerking problem to be a faulty clutch assembly, and replaced the unit, while the flywheel was skimmed instead of replaced with a new one. While replacing the clutch, the mechanic also damaged some other components on the engine. They removed the steering wheel to fit a new unit, but realised that the new one does not colour match. On doing so, they scratched the one on the car. The gearshift boot was also the wrong colour. They promised to get new parts from Korea. The main search/jerking problem is still the same after the clutch replacement. I suggested a fuel mixture problem & that the clutch was repaired in vain. The service manager promised that the car will be fixed in due time. Now after 1 month, the damaged parts are still on order, and nothing has been done to resolve the search/jerking problem.
