I took my Polo to Lindsay Saker Rivonia for the clutch. Carol Ann quoted me R13k for the clutch, a coolant flush & door lock. We asked them to remove the lock as it was R952! When we went to pick up the car, the bill is R22k. Carol Ann straight out & said she told me the fly wheel was extra. Who calls someone & gives them half a quote? My hubby questioned this & asked to listen to the call recordings, LS advised they don't do recordings. They don't return calls. The service rep is impossible to get hold of. LS kept my car for 3 days as they had to 'order the part'. Surely dealers keep spares for the most common car in SA? No courtesy car offered. The Service manager gave 2 options, either remove fly wheel (which was the faulty part) we would still have had to pay R12k, or they give us a discount. We had no option but to agree to the discount. So instead of paying R12k for a clutch & coolant, we ended up paying R18k. Who charges R22k for a clutch?? The next morning after having taken delivery of the car, the coolant light comes on, we check the level & it was low. No coolant flush?? My advice - avoid Lindsay Saker Rivonia. Ask for written quote before giving go ahead. Ripoffs
