In July 2012 I purchased the abovementioned vehicle from Primo Executive in Edenvale. A few months later the fuel pump broke, I took the vehicle to the nearest garage close to my house CMH Toyota in Alberton. The service team had picked up that there was rust on the chassis.
We queried this with Prima Executive we were told to take this matter up with Toyota directly as they were not advised about this from the previous owner or Toyota and it were not mentioned in the last service. Toyota's call centre where advised me to take the car to Toyota and get a assessor this was done in Dec 2012, Mr Jonker Van Rensburg told me to take the vehicle to CM auto body.
they would have to strip the whole body to get to the chassis and evaluate the full extent of the damage as well as repair it. I then returned to CMH Toyota to advise Mr Jonker of this and he said that they were not 100% sure as to the reason for the rust, Mr Jonker only gave me information after asking him for this numerous times i received the following reply, Hi Bruno,
I did check all Bulletins from TSAM and cannot find anything on Chassis rust.
The vehicle was used on a mine site and damaged could have occurred there due to
