Freeway Toyota
Toyota sells dud Fortune

The NEW Toyota Fortuner I purchased, started making noises just on 900km. I took it in and They thought it was the hydraulic tensioner on the main belt, Buffalo Toyota first washed it, it made no difference.

I took it back the next day they worked on it the whole day and said it should be good to go.

I drove it to PE the next day the noise appeared again but was better. Bear in mind this is a NEW vehicle that had been tested. I took it in AGAIN and they said they could hear nothing and the vehicle was good to go.

10km down a dirt road in the heart of the Transkei where no normal sedan can go (hence the reason I bought this vehicle), the centre bearing as well as its rubber housing broke. Now I am no fool when it comes to motor vehicles I can almost bet that this is what was causing the first noise it was making as it was running off centre. This meant that my whole weeks holiday was inconvenienced, my two kids and wife waited from 10 am till 15h00 in the sticks and heat till help arrived.

Toyota will not replace the car and the problems started at 900km. It has been in the workshop garage more that my garage at home.
