In July 2012 I took my Ford Bantum to have new Ball Joints replaced at Auto-mate in Trichardt. I had to take my vehicle back twice as the seal Auto-mate put in kept leaking. On 21 January 2013 my daughter had to have the same ball joints replaced at Trichardt Wheel Alignment as I was in the UK. On my return I phoned Auto-mate about the fact that the ball joints fitted by them only lasted 6 months. THEN they told me for THE FIRST TIME that their parts had a 6 months guarantee. THEY THEN PROCEDED TO TELL ME THAT THE BALL JOINTS GAVE IN BECAUSE OF THE ROADS THAT I TRAVELL ON. I travel from Trichardt to Secunda on TARRED roads, and then to work 7 & a half KM out of Trichardt on the NEW N17 to Bethal, and then for half a KM on a gravel road to the farm where I am employed. There is no way that the road I travel on caused the problem with the Ball Joints. All the same, Auto-mate in Carolus Street Trichardt are not prepared to take any responsiibility for the Ball joints I had to replace. They charged me R225.00 per Ball Joint.
