I am a female living in Joburg and am on holiday in Durban. Last week i noticed my Mercedes idling erratically [almost switching off] and that there was a rattling sound coming from the suspension when driving over bumps.
I phoned through to Umhlanga on Monday to book the car in, since i am leaving this Friday and that i will have to drive back alone to joburg. The earliest available booking was next week. When asked if someone could take a look at the car to give me some assurance that the car will be drivable to joburg and later can have the car seen to in joburg, the person agreed.
I went in the next day only to be told by Praveen Ramlugan that the car cannot be seen to. He showed no compassion, no smile... he didnt even look me in the eye. When i told him that i was told to come in, his attitude was cold and silent, looking down all the time, ignoring you, like you not there. Eventually he did speak to somebody quoting " we have an upcountry car here". After telling him the car was bought here, he told me everybody was busy. I left angry and embarrassed.
How could a big company like MBUmhlanga tell you one thing and do another? Peoples lives are at stake..
