I bought a luxury SUV from Anton de Clerq at Paarweg Motors / Unicity Trading for R 390 000.00 a few months ago. Within days I found that there where major mechanical defaults on the car that was not disclosed up front. After confronting the man, he promised to have it sorted. However after attempt number 3 it was clear I was getting the run around. After confronting Anton the after his last attempt, Mr de Clerq casually informed me that he is not spending a further cent on the vehicle and that he is walking away from the problem and the car.
I was left with no choice but to revert to the Motor Industry Ombudsman and the Consumer Protection Service for a full refund on the vehicle Anton de Clerq tried to sell. Must say we as consumers should use this service more often, I found them very helpful and knowledgeable on the law and the Consumer Protection Act.
The Motor Industry Ombudsman has now ruled in my favor and for the car to be returned for a refund. Anton de Clerq at Paalrweg Motors / Unicity Trading must refund the transaction. Lets see if Anton will come to the party now..! Will keep you updated. Regards
Lindy
