In May 2013 bought a used Toyota Corolla from McCarthy. The car was out of warranty. Since I was driving used Toyota before and I never had problems, I rejected the warranty they were offering. Yesterday, I took my car for service at McCarthy Arcadia, I was told that I need to buy new manifold sub and alternator, the spares alone will cost me around R16 000. I am very disappointed because I never thought that six months down the line I will have to fix a car bought from a reputable dealer like McCarthy.
Honestly, I did not contact the branch where I bought the car simple because the car is out of warranty. However I did asked from the sales person if the car was repaired before because some of the nuts were rusty and he said that he did not have a clue. Now I am suspecting it was repaired before. I was wondering if there is any recourse on this.
