I rented a car for a month via the internet from 4th of November to 30th November. On the internet it does not show you specials available. When I phoned OR Tambo to extend the rental by another day I heard via the voice recording waiting system that there is a 7D5 special. If you hire a car for 7 days you get two free. I asked why I was not offered this special and I was advised that because I booked on the internet I should have asked at the desk what specials were available it is not up to the staff to tell you. I then raised it with the front counter manager Oupa Maluleka and his attitude was that a contract cannot be changed and basically tough luck. He would then escalate it to management. Not holding my breath, I also requested the branch code for their banking details as I needed to do an eft. I phoned at 8.50 am and he never returned my call. I had to call him at 1.25 to ask him for the details.
I find the attitude and the inflexibility unacceptable, what happened to customer service and what is best for the client?
