At Avis Cars ARE more important than people

I went to collect my car at CTI on Fri 22 Nov at 10h20. Lizanne Booyens served me. She produced the contract then said that I had to book it back by 10h45 on Mon 25 Nov. I responded that I may not be able to do that as I had a very tight appointment on Mon and had planned to return the car by 11h00 as originally booked. She then said it was not going to be possible and I would be liable for an extra day's rent then. I replied that that did not suit me and I would rather sit down and have a cool drink for 15 minutes to save the extra day's rent. Lizanne then threw down the contract on the desk and said: " No way am I going to fill out the contract again".
I then tried to lodge this complaint by telephone through your national call centre and when Thando conveniently killed the call by routing it nowhere, I called again and asked to speak to customer care. Peter Mapethla said it was not possible as everyone was in meetings! Whilst hanging to these two calls at my own expense, I heard ad nauseum: "AT AVIS PEOPLE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN CARS ". Eventually Wayne, the branch manager fixed the problem, after the enforced 15 min wait. I am not sure that I will ever use Avis again.
