Someone drove into my car and I took it to Powers in Bo-Kaap. I was impressed when a missing part was ordered to be ready when my car was booked in. My insurance approved the quote and I called Powers to book my car in. Mr De Sale could find no record of my vehicle. I found this strange, as the quote had been accepted by my insurance! I was asked to email photographs of the damage. When I followed up I was requested to bring my car back for another assessment! Two weeks later Mr De Sale confirmed all repairs had been done. When I arrived the part was still missing. When I refused to accept the car, Mr De Sale counted money out of his wallet to refund me for it. I was horrified and concerned my insurance would not pay a second panelbeater to complete the work. I was close to tears. Mr De Sale promised once the part arrived, the repair would be done at my office. When the part arrived Powers was too busy to come to my office. Or to drop off my car once completed. Or to meet me at the train station. Or to help me while I struggled to get my car out of the full workshop. I was speechless. Mr De Sale's parting words: 'It does not matter who you call'.
