I negotiated a deal for a new Suzuki Jimny with Naeem Essop, salesman at Suzuki Bryanston. In the negotiation I requested that a backboard to cover the small luggage area be supplied and this was agreed to. Without the backboard (which I believe should be standard) it is possible to see whatever is in the luggage area. When I went to take delivery of the vehicle on 17 September 2013 there was no backboard. I asked Mr Essop where it was, and he went to make enquiries. Some relatively lengthy time later he came to tell me that the Sales Manager said that as it was not recorded on the quotation/invoice it was not part of the deal and if I wanted it, I would have to pay for it. He was most disinterested to the point of being unpleasant about anything that I had to say. I sent emails to Mr Essop and also asked that they be forwarded to the owner/CEO/dealership agent of Suzuki Bryanston and that he contact me. I have never heard from him. If I would have been aware that I was going to have such a negative experience with a senior person at Suzuki Bryanston, I would have reconsidered buying any Suzuki, and I left Suzuki Bryanston with my new vehicle and an unpleasant taste in my mouth.
