My car was sent in for a routine service on 30 July 2013. Lona, the Service Centre Manager called me to say: Your break pads need to urgently be replaced BUT don't worry, it's all included in your maintenance plan, when is the soonest you can bring the car? As a single mom with 2 children, i wasn't about to take a risk with worn break pads and because it's free, i didn't see the need to prolong it. I set the appointment for 13th August and made my own arrangements to be dropped off at work & my car taken to Barons before 08:30. After booking in the car, I get a call from Lona after 9am to say that she just discovered that the break pads aren't included in my maintenance plan. I phoned Lona's manager Gavin and he says: "the break pads do need to be replaced and he can reduce the price to R1000 from R1100! " Never mind the fact that it was initially "free". As a result i had to quickly make a loan out of fear that my breakpads could malfunction at any time. I got a call from Cust Service Agent Thandozile to confirm if i was happy with the service and what my issue was but i have yet to hear from anyone at Barons N1 City! I especially drive from Southern subs coz of bad service.
