EMS courier is a dodgy company

EMS failed me! my sender forwarded my parcel from the UK to South Africa on the 17th September 2013, I have been tracking the parcel online, it arrived in S.A on the 28th October 2013 and they delivered it yesterday on the 15th September, I don't understand why it was held up in Johannesburg for 2 weeks! even though my sender paid 60 Pounds extra for fast delivery! when the parcel arrived I was told by the driver to pay R527, 00 for VAT which came to me as a surprise, because no one communicated this with me, I even called the call center trying to find out what the hold up was because I waited too long for this parcel still none of them told me I'll be required to pay VAT..

Okay I paid VAT of R527, 00 and signed. when I opened the parcel the box was EMPTY!! yes empty, the phone and charger were MISSING! the only thing in the box was the headsets and USB cable. my phone was in the hands on EMS courier! what I am suppose to think? the phone was delayed for 2 WEEKS in Jo'burg WHY?? the driver made me meet with him in another location because he said he doesn't know where my address is, doesn't EMS provide their drivers with GPS's? and the person he was with was very defensive
