GARAGE OWNER PROMOTING MEDIOCRE SERVICE

A PETROL ATTENDANT FAILED TO REPLACE AN OIL CAP ON MY CAR (08/11/13). THIS RESULTED TO OIL LEAKAGE AND SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE CAR. ON MONDAY (09/09/13) I WENT TO REPORT THE MATTER TO THE MANAGER AND/OR OWNER OF THE SERVICE STATION WHO PROMISED TO INVESTIGATE THE MATTER AND REVERT TO ME, WHICH HE NEVER DID. IN AN ATTEMPT TO FOLLOW UP I VISITED THE SERVICE STATION AGAIN TODAY (11/09/13). TO MY SURPRISE I WAS TREATED WITH SO MUCH DISRESPECT AND BAD ATTITUDE. TO TOP THIS UP, NEIL KENNEDY (OWNER & MANAGER) SHIFTED THE BLAME BY TELLING ME THAT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT ALL COMPONENTS ARE REPLACED AFTER SERVICE.
IF THIS IS THE CASE. WHY NOT HAVE A SIGN STATING "MOTORIST ACCEPTING OIL, WATER AND SERVICE AT THEIR OWN RISK"?

AS FEMALE DRIVER I AM NOT WELL ACQUINTED WITH CAR COMPONENTS. I FEEL THAT IT IS GROSSLY UNFAIR FOR A SERVICE STATION OWNER TO TELL ME THAT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THE SERVICE THEY OFFER IS CARRIED OUT ACCORDINGLY. THIS IS ENDORSING MEDIOCRE SERVICE.
"WHY IS THIS BUSINESS CALLED A SERVICE STATION"? THEY SHOULD CALL IT "HALF SERVICE STATION"
IF I WAS NOT OBSERVANT AND/OR REACTED QUICK ENOUGH THIS WOULD HAVE SET ME BACK A COUPLE OF THOUSAND.
