I have in the last 3 years bought a 520d demo 2012, a brand new Cooper S Roadster in 2012 and then 2011 X3 35i (my newest acquisition). For R600k... not small change!
I love BMW! However in the last 6 weeks the mini has broken down twice with engine coolant spewing everywhere. After numerous fights we finally get a vehicle to kindly borrow while our almost new Mini breakdown!!! WE had to fight each time with BMW South Africa for this. Now the 2 year old X3 which I love when I got it had a gearbox issue. Almost jerking under mid engine performance. This was highlighted to Autobahn BMW which did the quality check. The car is back same problem and the Back right light intermittently goes on, the Window washer keeps emptying on the floor.
I called them and asked to look at the vehicles gearbox again. On which I was told I am not allowed a loan car. Yes people 2 year old top of the range X3, has a gearbox issue and for your monthly instalment as per the Mini you have to rent yourself a car. What happens in these quality inspections? My problem surely was not addressed by a software issue... now I have to be without a car again?
Highly disappointed with BMW!
