Travelling from Johannesburg toward Witbank this morning, I stopped at the Total Bonjour service station to fill up with diesel. As stopped next to a pump and started waiting for service. It was slow even though they were not very busy. A few meters from my a lady in a Total uniform stood watching me. She made no attempt to help me, so I assumed she was not an attendant. After a few minutes another attendant busy with a customer shouted at this lady who sauntered over, hands in pockets and grudgingly offered to serve me. She took some time doing nothing before informing me that the pump didn't work. I went to the next door pump. She struggled with that for a few minutes before she told me this pump did not work either. During all of this she never took both hands out of her pockets, or spoke clearly, or used words like please and thank you. I left and thankfully made it to Witbank where I filled up. This is an epic failure of customer service and some training may well be in order.
