I first contacted the RMI on the 05 April 2013 regarding my vehicle that had been taken to KST Auto Services for repairs. The vehicle has not been repaired and the body has been damaged. We paid a large amount of money to KST. After numerous emails to RMI, I finally only got a date on the 16 July 2013 to go to their Durban offices to discuss the issue. Kay from KST is now threatening to sue me for putting his business on Hello Peter, and says that the "receipts" he gave us are not vlaid and that we did not pay him any money! RMI has sided with Kay and said that we would have to take our vehicle back to him to be repaired! Anybody in their right mind would not take their car back to them and surely Kay must submit all reciepts for tax purposes so RMI could prove that we did pay, they are just not interested! I find it shocking that RMI is supposed to protect the consumer, but in actual fact side with the mechanics no matter how obvious the wrong doing is! Surely there must be another avenue we as motorists can take to ensure that we are protected.
